    Academic Year 2026/27:

    Dunmore is a 2-form entry Primary School.  The exception is Year 2, which is one form for this academic year. All other year groups have 2 classes with a maximum of 30 children in each class.

    Admissions to Reception Year

    Children start school (Reception Year) in September after their 4th birthday. The academic year runs from 1 September one year to 31August the following year. As Dunmore is a two-form entry school, our intake into Reception Year is 60.

    The process for admission into school is administered by Oxfordshire County Council, so you will need to apply online when your child is due to start school.  You are very welcome to visit us when you are making your choice, so please contact the school office to make an appointment.  You must still apply for a primary school place even if your child already attends Dunmore Nursery. There is no automatic transfer between the two.

    If your child will be 4 years old between 1 September 2026 and 31 August 2027 you will need to apply online for them to start school in September 2027.  Applications are typically open from 4 November 2026 to 15 January 2027, but these dates are awaiting confirmation.  You can complete your application here once the dates are confirmed -Apply for Reception Year 2027.

    Visits for parents of children due to start school in September 2027

    Our Headteacher, Mr Sam Bartholomew, will be hosting visits (9am-10am) for prospective parents on the following dates:

    • Tuesday 15 September
    • Wednesday 14 October
    • Monday 23 November

    Admissions/transfers In-Year

    Children are, of course, welcome to join us at any stage in their primary school career.  An experienced staff team and friendly children will help to ease the transition from one school to another for your child.  If you are considering transferring your child to Dunmore School, please contact us to arrange a visit to our happy, friendly and inclusive school.  

    All admissions in-year are also processed and allocated by Oxfordshire County Council. Please see the link below to their website, which contains guidance, along with the online application form you will need.
