⭐️Abingdon Community Fridge is free and open to all, no membership or referral required.
⭐️They run 3 open sessions a week, on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at Hadland Road Community Centre.
⭐️Their main goal is reducing food waste. All their food is surplus food from Abingdon and Oxfordshire. The variety and amount of food available at each session is different each time. Usually it will be a selection of fruit and veg with bread and bakery items.
⭐️Any session updates will be shared on their social media pages on Facebook and Instagram. Don’t forget to follow them!
⭐️They have a team of volunteers helping with open sessions and collecting food across the county. If you’d like to help as well, please get in touch with them!
⭐️The fridge remains free to all that visit, but if you would like to support them, they have a Chuffed.org online donation page. They are also currently recipients of donations from Easy Fundraising and the Coop Community Fund- if you use either for your shopping, don’t forget to select them as your chosen cause!
They hope you can take the time to visit them at some sessions this year, and help in the fight against food waste 🧡
